Why Transparency Is a Major Key to Building a Brand With J. Cutt

Published

on

J. Cutt is a graduate from the University of the Arts, in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts in Animation. Before Attending the University of Arts, he attended Delaware College of Art and Design where he earned an Associates Degree in Fine Arts with a concentration in animation as well.

During his studies, he came to master many different styles of animation, from stop-motion, Claymation and experimental, to 3-D animation, traditional and puppet animation. While working with a variety of animation styles, he quickly developed a talent for managing programs and software, like the entire Adobe suite and several other applications. At Delaware College of Art and Design, he became a Student Ambassador and Resident Assistant, working with several designers and other creative specialists.

The Beginning

About two years after college, he began working in many creative jobs, building up his knowledge and portfolio until he was talented enough to design for major companies, like Mac, Tom Ford, Frigidaire, etc.

Like many artists he has always done freelance work on the side, but just about a year ago, he decided to do freelance full-time. Social Media was a game-changer for him; he grew to over ten thousand followers on Instagram, he says, “this has opened so many freelance opportunities for me!”

Animation is all about working in a team while also working as an individual. However, thinking creatively without a team to produce new ideas and concepts can be very difficult; therefore, as a freelancer he became efficient in finding different ways to be inspired so that he will never have writer’s block again. Working on many projects at once has given him the freedom to become proficient in not only time management, but also gave him the ability to divide his creative mind between several projects.

What made you decide to choose this career path?

“I’ve been drawing all my life, although I did want become a chef since I was little but once I got to high school I decided to pick the career I was destined for (in my dramatic voice)”

What do you think makes your company/personal brand stand out?

“The word of the next decade, let’s say it together shall we be “TRANSPARENT”. I think transparency is what makes J. Cutt Productions standout. Everyones talented, as am I, but I want to be as transparent as possible with my clients so that they get the absolute best service from me and have only great things to say.”

What’s a quote that you live by?

‘Well, it’s less a quote more of a scripture, “But, the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our Mother” Gal. 4:26. The Bible very clearly testifies that we have both God the Father and God the Mother. Just as our physical mothers give us physical life, our heavenly Mother gives us spiritual growth, eternal life. I believe that if all people had a love of a mother, our lives would be much better.’

The New Era of Digital "Socialites" – ANTHONY LARIO

Published

on

Remember pop culture before social media? It’s hard to fathom as of recent, as the era of Digital media has seemed to override the public’s need to rush to the newsstands at their local convenient store… to purchase a tabloid. Now, all we have to do is log onto Instagram to get our “news”, if that’s what you’d like to dub it. However, the digital age has seemed to wipe out a certain demographic of “celebrity”, if you will- the socialite. E’s “Rich Kids of Beverly Hills” had a grasp on them, as well as Bravo’s “NYC Prep”. (Blast to the past) But whatever happened to these people? There’s reality stars and influencers, but where did the socialites go?

#FunEmily came to play!

A post shared by ANTHONY LARIO (@anthonylario) on

I was recommended to check out @anthonylario on Instagram by a colleague of mine. She’s from the Philadelphia area, and stumbled across a post of this young man imitating his mother on the phone with a classic Philly twang. My immediate thought was “absolutely hilarious”. As I began to cyber stalk him, I saw that he rubs elbows with many of the ‘Real Housewives’ as well as other reality stars/ celebrities. I was ‘all like’ who is this dude? Is this a blast to the past of the socialite era? Is he a comedian? Is he in New York? Is he in Philly? Is he a musician? I, then realized that maybe I had fallen into a trap… Maybe this is his goal… To keep us on his page questioning who he is and what he really does: classic socialite tactic. Next… cue post notification from BroadwayWorld.com… and there he is…

“Christmas Kinda Sucks!” FT no-k. Video by Courtney Kehr & Mitch Marsico.

The Kicker

So here’s the kicker- BroadwayWorld enlightened me about a new fact on Mr. Lario. He made a Christmas single. Did I laugh? Yes. Was I supposed to laugh? Yes. Is he a good singer? Yes. Was I mad that I enjoyed it? Yes. I can’t help but to think Anthony Lario is attempting to troll us, and it’s working. Just last night, he posted a video contrasting many of his comedic skits. A singing video- I assume he planned this post release of his Christmas single, but it’s different. It’s genuine, sad, affectionate. Captioned “This is part of a song I wrote back in the fall called “The First To Go”. The fabulous Abigail Clouser is accompanying me on harmony! I know on Instagram I make a lot of comedy skits and I wrote a “comedy Christmas” song (Christmas Kinda Sucks!), but honestly I DO mainly write a lot of really sappy, dramatic, sad songs lol. I’m constantly writing – other than funny stuff and media, song writing and music is really one of my first loves. I sometimes think about releasing these songs on an EP or album, but I always wonder if people would listen- or even take them seriously bc of my “insta persona” of always being the funny guy. (Which is my own fault) What do you think? Should I release some of these songs?”

“Where do we go from here?”

Christmas Kinda Sucks! Anthony Lario FT No-K

Aaaaaand… Now I’m crying? I don’t know this person? But– I fell down the rabbit hole. He’s not trying to sell me on anything, nor is he trying to make me love him… nor emotionally manipulate me. (I think?) He just wants me to watch. That, people, is the lost art of the socialite- making me write a piece on someone of whom I’ve never heard of, and who is now part of my daily scrolling routine. We will never know the true intentions of social media “stars”. Hell, this kid could be a dick. He could be part of a marketing pyramid scheme subliminally messaging his followers. He could be a lot of things. But none of that matters- what matters is I’m watching. Happy scrolling, happy stalking, happy stumbling, and remember- you might not know if you’re being trolled.

From Music to Entrepreneurship – The Story of Michael Insigno

Published

on

Michael Insigno, also known as Emicii, is an Italian music producer and entrepreneur, currently living in Sweden. He grew up in Italy, from an early age, he discovered to be interested in music, starting to produce electronic music on his own, which led him to the top of various digital charts.

We asked to Michael, to share with us, some tips and advices for new and upcoming music producers

How you reach your goals?

Achieving a certain goal in music requires great passion and dedication, not only during the effort, but often after it has been achieved. However, being detached creates emotional freedom. It means holding on tightly, but also knowing how to give up lightly, with nonchalance; it means trying with all your strength, being passionate, truly interested, but at the same time being absolutely willing to give up temporarily, and wait for a better moment.

Did you have any future projects?

I’m constantly working in the production of new projects and unpublished tracks, but in parallel with music, I’m also involved in entrepreneurship, with various commercial projects. We’ll talk about it in the future, for now my main goal is music, to continue producing, playing around the world and making people know me.

3 suggestions for those who decide to undertake this musical career ?

  • I would suggest to find a complete new ideas, or also to being inspired by an existing track, even if outdated, but finding to it a different musical approach; after you’ve found your new original music-style
  • Try to improve it every day, even if it takes months.
  • Finally, once you think it’s completed, look for any imperfection and fix them.

“To recap, I think that composing a new track is all about making it perfect no matter how much time it requires, so that it’s very likely that everyone will like it!”
